The Slate Theater has provided a space where local actors, directors, playwrights, producers, educators and fans of theater have come together for many years. Based out of the historic Inscape Arts Building, Slate Theater hosts a wide array of performances, workshops, and community-driven events; helping build the strength of Seattle's independent arts scene.
Slate Theater is located in an intimate black box theater, this creates an opportunity for performers to develop a strong relationship with their audience and allows them to be innovative, creative and explore new concepts in a friendly and open way.

The Slate Theater is a long-standing example of how to provide an affordable space for smaller, independent theatrical organizations. Since its inception The Slate has provided artists and smaller theatrical companies with a venue to present new and established works. Examples of productions presented at The Slate include classic plays/musicals as well as original works, staged readings/workshops and experimental performances.
Over the years, The Slate Theater has welcomed numerous local theater companies and productions.
